Tiffanie Holm

My name is Dawson Allen and I’m a senior lacrosse player at FSU.

On February 2, 2018 I lost my mom, Tiffanie Holm, to Colon Cancer. She was 48 years old. My mom dedicated her life to helping people. At home, she was a loving and faithful wife and mom. At work, she passionately invested herself in the elementary education system.

It’s been difficult to find a new “normal”. But where I’ve found hope in dealing with the loss of my mom, is in the value of life. And in response, I can’t think of a more important thing to do right now than to help people in anyway I can.

Lacrosse has been, and continues to be, an outlet for me. It’s a chance to feel deeply, to be creative, to work hard, and to be a part of something bigger than myself. Every chance I get to put on a helmet and gloves, is a chance to be a good teammate, to be a good leader, to make my mom proud. And I want to dedicate this season to something bigger than myself.

The HEADstrong Foundation is a charitable 501c3, committed to improving the quality of life for those affected by cancer. Through this campaign you have the opportunity to pledge financial support for every point I’ll score for the rest of the season. The money raised will go directly to helping families who are affected by Cancer.

To anyone who is walking through a fight with cancer in any capacity, I’m so sorry. I’m with you in any way that I can be, and you’re loved deeply.
