The Baylor Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is looking to turn touchdowns into rare disease research dollars.

In order to support the Bears’ chosen rare disease, Cerebral palsy, the Baylor Chapter is holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive on November 1.

For the home game at brand new McLane Stadium against fellow Big 12 foe Kansas, each touchdown the Bears score will support Cerebral palsy research.

Fans can support the football student-athlete led Baylor Chapter by making a donation through the Bears’ online Touchdown Pledge Drive site.

The Baylor Chapter launched early in 2014 when Bears wide receiver Levi Norwood committed to taking a relationship with Jacoby Burks, a teenager in Waco with Cerebral palsy, to another level. The rest of his Baylor teammates joined in supporting Norwood and adopted Jacoby as part of the Bears’ program.

Earlier this year Baylor held its inaugural Lift For Life and Jacoby joined the Bears for the event. The Baylor Chapter raised raised $3,155 for Cerebral palsy research.

Uplifting Athletes is a national non-profit organization aligning college football with rare diseases and raising them as a national priority through outreach, research, education and advocacy.

Each of the 25 student-athlete led chapters nationwide raises research funds and brings awareness to their chosen rare disease through a Lift For Life fundraiser.
